Rainy Day Tomato Soup from Hope For Healing
I've always wanted to participate in Adopt A Gluten Free Blogger, a monthly carnival started by Sea at Book of Yum. But I'm usually so busy working on my own ideas, I never have time to try out all the wonderful recipes I have bookmarked. Well, this month I decided it was time to test out some blogger recipes. And it was so fun (and tasty) I know I'll be wanting to adopt a blogger every month!
Hope For Healing is a wonderful blog written by Stephanie Laidlaw. All of her recipes are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. I was originally drawn to Stephanie's blog by its classic simplicity and bold photos. I lingered to look at her gluten free dessert recipes. And I came back to try out her healthy meals.
Since it was so rainy all week, I decided to make Stephanie's Rainy Day Tomato Soup. It was perfect for a rainy day, and has been keeping me happy all week long since I made a double batch. I desperately wanted to try one of Stephanie's baked goods as well, but self-preservation prevailed. Whatever I made, I would end up eating the whole batch and then being mad at myself. Better just to enjoy the photos from afar! But here are the links to some of the recipes I'm dying to try when I have a potluck to go to and can't eat them all by myself:
- Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Pumpkin Spice Pancakes
- Spicy Molasses Cookies
- Shortbread Cookies

Let me know how it goes as a pizza dough! I'd love some GF recipes to work with for some (cheese-free) pizza while I'm still in no-gluten mode (I'm actually considering staying this way for the long term, i feel so good!) :)
By the way, every time I visit your page I am stunned by how gorgeous you are!
Aww, thanks Darryn! Way to make my day!
Great - another blogger for me! Thanks Iris. I didn't really explore her site when I looked at the flatbread but now I will for sure. Love that she's dairy-free too.
Thanks for sharing her with us Iris! I found so many great recipes on her site, I can't wait to try this soup!
Thanks for introducing us to Stephanie, yet another person who eats real food to be gluten free--love that! That tomato soup looks so good, as do the other recipes you mentioned. I took a quick look, but will return to Stephanie's site later. Love the name of her blog, too!
BTW, you and Alta have inspired me to do the adopt a gf blogger this month. :-)
Happy Friday!
Shirley
Definitely going to check out her blog! I love finding new GF bloggers.
Oh, adopt a gluten free blogger sounds interesting! I will have to look into it more :) I understand your whole baking sentiment too, I have no self control when it comes to baking. If I have one bite I am done!
Iris- Your words are too kind. Thanks for sharing. And, I hope you indulge in a dessert soon ( to share with friends of course! :) Much love to you today!
Hey, thanks for joining us, Iris! Sorry- when I looked in my inbox I mistakenly thought your email was for the previous month's event... I get a little delirious when doing round-ups sometime. Anyway, your entry has been added to the round-up. Thanks! You're welcome to host Adopt a gluten-free blogger anytime... even this month if you have time. Just let me know. :)

I want someone to adopt me! I just found this site and most places appear to be closed....I am recovering from a serious illness. All the complications seem to be related to allergies, especially to wheat, soy, milk and who knows what else. Have mercy, please! You may contact me at eds47@cableone.net. Thanks for providing this service.
